Spectators Can't Win.

🏄‍♂️ What I Learned This Week...

Howdy!

Every week I share the business projects I’m working on — the goal is for you to be able to take action from what I’m learning! I’m excited to hang out with you and 5,731 5,787 others.

I’m asked what tools I use in my business. Here’s my tool list, AI tool list, and money-making ideas to help you with your income stream building. Reply to this email and ask me anything - happy to help. A note: I always use referral links when I have them. I will make a commission if you purchase through the links, so thanks!

Read Time: 5.3 minutes.

The latest thing I build was an image resizer and converter.

This is a part of the 100 useful tools I hope to build over the next 1,000 days (or 2.74 years).

I’ll add them all here as I go.

I mentioned this last week, but I think it needs repeating…

I’m a big believer in taking action.

Just get going.

Figure out how to adjust along the way.

Learn as you go.

Slow and Steady Wins The Race.

But you can’t win if you’re not actually in the race.

Spectators can’t win.

Get in the race!

Have an idea for a tool?

Reply towith your ideas, and maybe I’ll try to build it!

How I’m Using AI this Week…

I made this social post to my local friends. I’d love your opinions as well!

AI in Schools.

I'd love a healthy discussion about this.
I invite all views, thoughts, and opinions!

First, a few notes.
AI isn't going anywhere is only getting better - literally by the day (for example, ChatGPT is only 2.5 years old and has massively improved over that time period.)
Newsflash. Your kids are probably already using AI to write their papers and do homework.
Ok, now that I've got that out of the way, I'll share more thoughts 😜

I hope schools are having discussions about how they want to integrate AI into their education systems (and hopefully are already acting).

Not policing.
Integrating.
I think policing is a lost cause. What, are you going to use some AI to check if a kid's work is AI? Ok, maybe, but not the right choice in my opinion.

My suggestion is to lean in.
I think learning can actually get real again.
No more memorizing and throwing up those answers on a test.

I think the key is to dig in and learn how to learn with their new teaching buddy.

Kids can share individually with the class what they're learning.
Maybe this is a week-long adventure.
Those kids would learn how to research, gather their thoughts, speak, teach others, and on and on.

Maybe education gets adjusted where kids are on different levels and paths depending on what they're learning and how they're progressing.

I think most kids now have computers at school now, correct?
If so, great.
Each of them has a personal tutor already.

Heck, maybe testing goes back to writing on paper to "show your work" and that you understand a topic.

Will any of this work?
I have no idea.
I just want to make sure that the discussions are being had in your schools and school systems.
Let's not treat AI like a bad word.
Will it be net positive or negative for society? I have no idea, but it ain't going anywhere, so might as well face it head on.

Well, what will our teachers do?
They're the coach -- the leader of the pack.
They can still teach a main theme or idea.
Then they can push kids dig in and learn about a topic.
Learning how to learn is so valuable.

What are your thoughts?

And speaking of AI…

I actually made the rough draft for a super simple podcast editor — all you have to do is drop in audio files for an intro, the main content, and outro and the tool combines them — I even set it up with its very own domain! You can see it live at EasyPodcastEditor.com— I’ll polish it up in the coming weeks.

But if you want to see the process I thought through, I made the video below…

Now, a quick note from an email sponsor… clicking and visiting their site helps me continue creating and sharing in this newsletter, so thanks!

If you have an interest in starting a podcast, I’ve used BuzzSprout as my podcast host for the past 3 years — they’ve been great. Our link gets you a $20 credit if you want to check them out. I also created this simple podcast cheatsheet you might find helpful.

Domain Name Flipping [Update]

Ok, using GoHighLevel, I’ve set up some outbound campaigns.

I got my first offer for one of my domains!

She offered me $1k for a real estate-related domain.

Thanks to my friend Andrew’s note, I’m countering her at $1.5k (my asking price was $2k).

update: She’s thinking on it. I told her I’d give her the week before I start following up with other agents in her area!

We’ll see - I’ll keep you posted.

My process:

I used Outscraper to pull a list of some of the top real estate agents in those cities.

Then I sent a very personalized message.

Feel free to join me in the DomainNameLovers.com group.

PS - you can see most of my domains for sale here.

Amazon Influencer Program [Update]

I just made a few new videos (I got paid $50 by a brand to make them, and I recorded a few extra).

They typically offer me a product in exchange for vids, but I always just respond with my standard “here’s my cost” email — this is the first that took me up on it.

Got a cool light though — vid below…

Want to start Amazon Influencer? Here are my best tips I’ve learned at no cost to you. Enjoy!

I’ve now crossed $4k in total earnings.

I have 127 131 videos.

(plus 75 videos from other creators..)

My total earnings equal $3,901.23 $4,372.65

After expenses, I’m making $85.35 $97.23 per hour.

But the real O.G. is my buddy Jared Bauman, who has made more than $40,000 per year with Amazon Influencer in his part time (that’s a salary for some folks!) — he shares all his knowledge in his course.

If you want to learn more about Amazon Influencer, an overview of the program is here, and my first update is here.

(If you want, you can check each weekly update. I’ve come a long way from $2.81 per hour!)

📰 Local Newsletter [Update]

I just got my login for CitySpark yesterday, so it’s on my list to start testing!

I’ve officially forwarded my old calendar URL.

now points to…

I also had a nice conversation with a local mom who potentially help run our social media channels (which we totally slack on).

My goal is to offer promo packages to businesses for exposure.

My thinking is that if 1 out of 10 or 20 get the package, the position should at a minimum pay for itself (in addition to helping grow our community!)

I’ll keep you posted!

[These are ideas we share over in the Local Media Crew if you ever want to join us!]

More Projects

Other projects I’ll update over time (or provide future updates) include…

Also, if you like my newsletter, here are others you may want to check out…

Want to link up for a consulting call? If so, I’d love to book some time with you — you can do that here.

Until next time!

Don’t just think outside the box — keep destroying that box 😉
